24 Dallas ISD Principals have been recognized as Master Principals for the 2023-2024 school year, and eight of the awarded leaders hail from schools in our neighborhood.
The annual award is given to the top 10% of DISD principals in three categories: neighborhood elementary schools, neighborhood secondary schools and choice schools.
Criteria for the Master Principal designation includes at least three years of service as a DISD principal, individual performance and campus performance in the prior school year. The 2023-2024 selection criteria was also adjusted to emphasize student growth and account for differences in school demographics, according to DISD.
Each principal will receive a $10,000 stipend and will be recognized at the Feb. 1 annual Master Principal Recognition event at the Joule Hotel.
